Triple digit distancing! Whoa. I simultaneously can’t believe it’s been 100 days and then, also, OH MY GOD THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOREVERRRRRR. Things have been about a billion times better since we’ve been able to spend time with our bubble people. I am an extroverted introvert, so I never realized just how important having people to connect with is for my sanity. Leave it to a global pandemic to make you realize that the little things in life aren’t the little things.
1. The day started with me deciding to wax my eczema to see if that would make it better. I don’t think I have to tell you that it did not. I do have to tell you that when I was waxing, I looked like the Lorax. I was laughing so hard at myself that I let the wax sit too long and it got hard and ridiculously painful to peel off. On the plus side, my blonde lady ‘stache is gone. On the not plus side, I still have eczema and now it’s extra red, tender, and mad about it.
2. We had such a fun time at our 100 days of social distancing party. The kids made circles and wrote “please keep 6ft apart” on them and taped them to the floor. We also ripped apart our useless calendar and used it as a table runner. For the final decoration, I handed the kids rolls of toilet paper and let them TP the house for “streamers.” It’s not everyday that someone asks you to TP the house. The kids has a blast and they were really sweet about cleaning it up when the party was over. I might just let them TP my house again sometime. I can’t believe it, but I forgot my toilet paper earrings. I guess my mind is going in my old age. During the party, we served freezer lasagna and the 5-min artisan bread. I learned to make the artisan bread during coronatine and we ate A LOT of freezer meals when social distancing first started since it was so hard to get groceries. Before you ask: I broke veganism to eat tonight bc I didn’t want to cook 2 meals. I did it. And I’d do it again. Actually, not for freezer lasagna. I’d definitely do it for my mother-in-law’s lasagna. Remember when I said I didn’t miss cheese? Turns out I do miss *that* cheese.
3. Winnie walked almost 5 miles today. She’s a little trooper. She mostly slept the rest of the day and I don’t blame her. She loves to walk and I love that she loves to walk. I have never had my lock screen on my phone be anything other than the default graphic that comes with it, but today I asked the kids if I should change it to Winnie and they unanimously said yes. Now every time I pick up my phone, it’s Winnie’s green eye staring back at me. We are all smitten with that greatest puppo who has a few screws loose on the old tricycle.
