distancing day 1.3 thoughts:

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I’m super not Irish, but I have a red headed daughter that gets her red hair from her Irish great-grandmother so we celebrate! Or at least we try to celebrate.

The girls asked me green nail polish so I grabbed some while I was at the store. I didn’t want to spend a ton, since we don’t exactly wear green nail polish on a daily basis. I grabbed some sinful colors green with gold flecks for $2.88 and was feeling very pleased with my purchase… until. When I got home and started painting Marian’s fingernails, I realized the cheap gold flecks looked more like brown flecks and the green of the polish was the color of a baby’s excrement when they started eating solids. Yes, I am so talented that I found the exact color baby shit green- including brown doodoo flecks- in a sea of nail polish. I immediately took it off of Marian’s nail but I will paint mine just so you can appreciate how bad it truly is even though it’s not a great pic here. You’ll be aight.

I made corned beef tonight for the first time. I was really sweating it, but it was delicious. I don’t know where I’ve been. We will be eating it every St. Patrick’s Day from now on. I also fried cabbage in bacon grease and roasted bacon and potatoes in the oven. Healthy? No. Delicious? Yes!
